INTERVIEW: Meet Trey & Noel
Noel, how did you discover your talent for makeup/design?
I've always drawn since I was a little kid which made me interested in makeup.
Where are you from/where did you grow up?
Trey: I am from Caldwell Idaho and was raised there my whole life.
Noel: I'm from La Puente, CA.
Any creative people that inspire you?
Trey: I am inspired by random individuals who aren't afraid to be their original self.
Noel: Bjoirk, Die Anterwoord
What do you think is unique about the artist community in LA?
Noel: It's very different compared to the New York scene because LA is a lot more random.
Trey: You can see all of the collaboration between artists and I think it's cool that people are working together.
What do you like or dislike about the queer community in LA?
Trey: You can really see how supportive it is, which is very new to me.
How would you describe your personal style?
Noel: Modern gay-goth-Mexican
Trey: It's a mixture of messy, vintage, grungy and at times put together. I take a lot of inspiration from every day people and from past icons.
Is there a decade you vibe with aesthetically?
Trey: The past few years I've been in love with 70's and early 80's clothing.
Any style icons you're obsessed with?
Noel: Mugler, Alexander Mcqueen, Marilyn Manson.
Trey: Courtney Love, Prince, Alexander Mcqueen and anyone who is dressed like they don't care.
Noel: Not inspired by decades but inspired by mythology.
Trey: It has always been red.
If you could liken yourself to a cartoon character, who?
What is one important fact you want the world to know about you?
Trey: I am working on becoming more fearless so I may express myself better, but mostly trying to show my perspective.
Noel: I’m just working on improving myself.
Noel: Jessica Rabbit as a boy
Trey: Caillou lol
